Ryan Perreault joined the North Dakota State University athletic communications office in 2002 and has served in his current role as assistant athletic director since 2017. He is the media contact for the NDSU football program and oversees the athletic communications staff for all sports.

Perreault began his career at NDSU as a graduate assistant in 2002 before being hired as assistant director in 2004 and promoted to associate director in 2010 and director in 2015. He spent nine seasons working with the NDSU women's volleyball, men's basketball, baseball and men's and women's golf programs before taking on football duties in 2013 with the nine-time FCS national champion Bison.

A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America since 2002, his volleyball game program was judged "Best in the Nation" by CoSIDA four straight years from 2006 to 2009 after a second-place finish in 2005. The NDSU football game program in 2013 was judged seventh among all Division I schools before a national runner-up finish in 2014 and a third-place finish in 2018.

The Fargo native played third base for the North Dakota State University baseball team from 1999 to 2002. He made the All-Central Region and All-North Central Conference teams and served on the NDSU Student-Athlete Advisory Council for two seasons.

Perreault was inducted into the Fargo American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame in January 2015. He set program records for career batting average and single-season doubles, and went on to spend six years with the program as the head groundskeeper at Jack Williams Stadium and coached the Fargo Bombers 16-year-old team for one season.

As a high school and college baseball umpire for 17 years, he worked 12 state tournaments in North Dakota and two NAIA Super Regionals while serving nine years as the secretary/treasurer of the Fargo-Moorhead Area Baseball Umpires Association.

He has remained active in local youth baseball as a volunteer coach since 2015 and has completed USA Baseball's "C" coaching certification and umpiring certification. He serves on the Board of Directors for Fargo Youth Baseball and chairs the Board of Directors for Fargo Post 2 American Legion Baseball.

Perreault earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication from NDSU in 2002 and completed his master's degree in mass communication at NDSU in 2004. He and his wife, Stephanie, reside in Fargo with their children, Andrew and Leah. Stephanie is a graduate of NDSU and continues to work on the NDSU press box staff for football, basketball and volleyball.
