DES MOINES, Iowa – North Dakota State senior
Sierra Rosenau claimed a Drake Relays title in the javelin to headline the efforts of the Bison women's track & field team on Friday. It was the third straight year that the Bison women claimed an event championship at one of the nation's most prestigious meets.

Rosenau won the javelin title with a throw of 165-4 (50.40m). The Carrington, N.D., native stands at No. 16 on the NCAA list in the event this season.

NDSU's
Amy Andrushko ran her fifth career 800m race under 2:09, clocking 2:08.60 for a second-place finish.

Bison junior
Katelyn Weimerskirch posted the second-best discus mark of her career, throwing 172-0 (52.43m) for a third-place finish. Weimerskirch moved into the national top 40 in the discus and came up just 10 inches shy of matching her own school record from 2014.

NDSU senior
Melissa Kitching ran a season-best 58.95 in the 400m hurdles for sixth place, ranking her among the top 50 in the NCAA this year.

Sophomore
Alyssa Olin took fourth in the Drake Relays javelin with a mark of 154-9 (47.18m). Freshman
Maddy Nilles was eighth in the discus at 156-4 (47.65m).

Taylor Janssen,
Kayla Huhnerkoch and
Ann Govig teamed up to run 8:57.56 in the 4x800m relay, ranking eighth in school history.

NDSU also had a number of athletes compete at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. Sophomore
Gabby Grommesh won the 100m dash in 12.55 seconds.
Lauren Gietzen cleared 12-07.50 (3.85m) in the pole vault for a runner-up finish in the meet, moving up to No. 5 on the NDSU all-time list. Freshman
Klara Lyon vaulted 12-01.50 (3.70m) to tie for 10th in NDSU history.

Sierra Link took third in the 800m at the Kip Janvrin Open in 2:15.62, and
Brittany Brownotter was fourth in the 1500m in 4:38.56.

Competition at the Drake Relays will conclude on Saturday.
