Erin Teschuk made it look easy on Friday evening, cruising to a new school record and a spot in the national finals in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Â
Teschuk crossed the finish line in 4:34.25, an improvement over her previous school record of 4:34.78 earlier this season. She is the second-fastest qualifier into Saturday's 10-woman final behind Michigan State's Leah O'Connor, who ran 4:34.17 in the prelims.
Â
Teschuk now owns the four fastest mile times in NDSU history. This year, she is the fastest Canadian woman in the mile and No. 21 in the world.
Â
The national finals of the mile will run at 6 p.m. (CT) tomorrow night inside the Randal Tyson Track Center. Teschuk will also run the 3,000m final at 8 p.m., which she enters with a No. 5 national ranking. ESPN3 is streaming the meet live starting at 5:50 p.m.
