FARGO, N.D. – Senior forward Marshall Bjorklund made his first 11 shots and finished with 22 points in 17 minutes of action as the North Dakota State men's basketball team rolled to a 98-49 exhibition victory over Concordia Moorhead inside the Bison Sports Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Sophomore forward Chris Kading chipped in 21 points and seven rebounds for the Bison. NDSU shot 36-for-64 (56.3 percent) for the game and only committed eight turnovers.
The Bison claimed a 50-24 margin in the rebounding battle.
Sophomore Dexter Werner came off the bench to lead NDSU with 12 rebounds. Freshman guard A.J. Jacobson recorded eight points and four assists in his first collegiate contest.
NDSU scored 40 first-half points in the paint on the way to a 56-28 halftime lead. Bjorklund, the active career NCAA leader in field goal percentage, opened the game 11-for-11 from the field before missing his final attempt in a scramble at the end of the half. As a team, NDSU shot just over 70 percent in the first half.
The Bison will host Viterbo on Friday, Nov. 8 to open the regular season.
