SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The top three spots remain the same but other NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision teams move up and down the FCS ladder. North Dakota State is ranked No. 1 with a 9-0 record. The Bison stampeded Illinois State, 54-28, to garner 18 first place votes and 688 points. NDSU has been No. 1 for five straight weeks.
North Dakota State (9-0, 2-0 Great West Football Conference) is scheduled to play at Cal Poly (6-3, 2-1 Great West Football Conference) at 6:05 p.m. (Central) Saturday, Nov. 10, in San Luis Obispo. The Bison have won 13 straight games, the longest current streak in NCAA Division I football
Also receiving first place votes were Northern Iowa, with six first place votes and 670 points in second, and Montana in third with four first place votes and 629 points. McNeese State, Southern Illinois, Delaware, Appalachian State, Richmond, Massachusetts and Delaware State round out the top 10.
Massachusetts dropped to No.9 following a 12-6 defeat at the hands of Rhode Island. New Hampshire fell to No.14 after it suffered a loss to Northeastern, 31-13. Georgia Southern moved up eight spots to No. 11 after a 38-35 victory over then-No.10 Wofford now No.17.
FCS Coaches Poll is based exclusively on a voting panel of head coaches in the FCS under the cooperation of the Collegiate Commissioners Association (CCA) and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
The poll is available on the newly-created FCS web page that features the poll, conference scores and standings, and features on FCS programs and players. The Southern Conference oversees the poll and maintains the web site.
