FARGO, N.D. - Maggie Crippen of Loyola Sacred Heart High School in Missoula, Mont., and Alex Schmid of Shakopee (Minn.) High School have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their education and play women's golf at North Dakota State University.

NDSU head coach Matt Johnson made the announcement Wednesday, Nov. 14, the first day of the one-week early signing period.

Crippen is the reigning two-time Class B state champion in Montana girls' golf and was the state women's amateur champion in 2011.  She was a Wendy's High School Heisman state finalist in 2012 and is a three-time all-state performer.  She led Missoula Loyola to a state golf championship in 2011 and was part of a third-place state finish in basketball in 2010.

Schmid, a three-time all-conference performer, is a two-time Class 3A state qualifier and was all-state last year after a fifth-place finish.  She is a member of the Minnesota Junior PGA Players Tour and was selected for the 2011 Ryder Cup Junior Academy and the 2012 Minnesota-Wisconsin Junior PGA Cup.

North Dakota State begins its spring schedule Feb. 25-26 at the UC Irvine Anteater Invitational.  The Bison have four players back from last year's team that placed second at The Summit League championship.
