FARGO, N.D. - Maggie Crippen of Loyola Sacred Heart High
School in Missoula, Mont., and Alex Schmid of Shakopee (Minn.) High
School have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their education and
play women's golf at North Dakota State University.
NDSU head coach Matt Johnson made the announcement
Wednesday, Nov. 14, the first day of the one-week early signing period.
Crippen is the reigning two-time Class B state champion in
Montana girls' golf and was the state women's amateur champion in 2011. She was a Wendy's High School Heisman state
finalist in 2012 and is a three-time all-state performer. She led Missoula Loyola to a state golf
championship in 2011 and was part of a third-place state finish in basketball
in 2010.
Schmid, a three-time all-conference performer, is a two-time
Class 3A state qualifier and was all-state last year after a fifth-place
finish. She is a member of the Minnesota
Junior PGA Players Tour and was selected for the 2011 Ryder Cup Junior Academy
and the 2012 Minnesota-Wisconsin Junior PGA Cup.
North Dakota State
begins its spring schedule Feb. 25-26 at the UC Irvine Anteater
Invitational. The Bison have four
players back from last year's team that placed second at The Summit League
championship.
