ST. LOUIS, Mo.--North Dakota State University offensive guard Tyler Gimmestad was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week on Monday. It is the second time this season Gimmestad has received the honor.
Gimmestad, a 6-foot-2, 298-pound junior from Marshall, Minn., graded out to 92
percent and had eight knockdown blocks in No. 1-ranked North Dakota State’s
20-17 win over No. 16 South Dakota State before a sellout crowd of 18,721 at
Gate City Bank Field on Saturday.
Gimmestad allowed no sacks or
quarterback hurries as the Bison outgained SDSU 251-209 including 171 yards
rushing. NDSU held the ball for over 35 minutes including 21 minutes in the
second half.
No. 1 NDSU (9-1, 6-1 MVFC) is scheduled to close out the regular season at No. 11 Illinois State (8-2, 5-2 MVFC) at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Hanco
