The regionally ranked North Dakota State women's cross country team will travel to Palo Alto, Calif., this weekend to compete in the Stanford Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 29. The women will run a six-kilometer race at Stanford University Golf Course at approximately 12:30 p.m. (CT), following the men's race.
Redshirt freshman Brecca Wahlund has led the Bison in both meets so far this season, winning the Bison Invitational on Aug. 31 and taking 10th place at the SDSU Classic on Sept. 14. Wahlund's time of 17:51.34 at the SDSU Classic tops The Summit League leaderboard for 5k performances this season.
North Dakota State owns the four fastest 5k times in The Summit League so far this season, with juniors Heidi Peterson and Maddie McClellan and sophomore Abbi Aspengren right behind Wahlund.
As a team, the Bison are ranked No. 12 in the Midwest Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
