OXBOW, N.D. - The North Dakota State men's golf team had four top-10 finishers and placed second at the Erv Kaiser Invitational at Oxbow Country Club on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
Manitoba won the six-team tournament with an 885 and North Dakota State was two shots back with an 887. South Dakota was third with a 907 and North Dakota fourth with a 909.
Manitoba's Charlie Boyechko fired an even-par 72 in the final round and won the 37-player tournament with a 3-over 219 by one shot over teammate Josh Wytinck and North Dakota's Nick Schaefer.
NDSU's top finisher was senior Nathan Anderson, who finished at 5-over 221 in fourth place. Bill Carlson and Trent Olson tied for fifth at 222, Connor Holland tied for eighth with a 224, and Nate Varty tied for 21st with a 233.
NDSU's second team placed sixth with a 938. Oliver Boeckel tied for 19th with a 232, Kavin Dvorak was 24th with a 235, Hayden Timm tied for 25th with a 236, Kyle Jandro tied for 30th with a 240 and Josh Weismantel tied for 32nd with a 242.
North Dakota State is off until Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 when the Bison go to Sioux Falls, S.D., for the South Dakota State Invitational.
