The North Dakota State men's cross country team will host the Bison Invitational on Fri., Aug. 31, to open the 2012 season.

Rose Creek Golf Course in Fargo will host the men's eight-kilometer race at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Friday, following the women's race. NDSU will be competing against South Dakota State and North Dakota.

Coming off a runner-up finish at the 2011 Summit League Championships, NDSU returns four of its top six finishers from the league meet a year ago, including sophomores Grady Anderson and Brett Kelly and juniors Moses Heppner and Alec Espeland. The Bison are ranked No. 14 in the Midwest region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
