FARGO, N.D. - The North Dakota State men's track and field team travels to California this weekend to compete in three meets. The team will send a contingent to the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. April 19-21, the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. April 19-20 and the Beach Invitational in Norwalk, Calif. April 20-21.

Orgon sets school record in hammer at Bison Invitational
Junior Casey Orgon broke his own school record in the hammer throw at the Bison Invitational Friday, April 13 at the Ellig Sports Complex. Orgon's winning mark of 195-2 broke the record of 193-6 he set at last year's Summit League Championships. Orgon was one of seven Bison to win titles at the weekend meet. Matt Tetzlaff was a multi-event winner, taking home both the 100 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. Brock Larson broke into the all-time top 10 in the pole vault after clearing 16-6 3/4, which is tied for fifth all-time, while Jason Duchscherer's time of 47.63 seconds is seventh in school history.
Bison compete in two meets in Arizona
At the Mesa Classic on Friday, April 6, freshman Jerome Begin captured the 400 meter hurdles title to lead the Bison contingent in Mesa, Ariz. At the Sun Angel Track Classic in Tempe, Ariz., the Bison men posted four top eight finishes in a tough field. Blake Elsen was fourth in the discus, while Casey Orgon was seventh in the shot put. Josh Hintz was fourth in the 800 meters, while Spencer Uetz was sixth.
NDSU wins five events at Northern State Open
The Bison men sent a contingent of athletes to Aberdeen, S.D. for the Northern State Open Friday, April 6. Jeramy Geditz claimed the high jump, while Joe Bredahl won the pole vault. In running events, Matt Tetzlaff won the 110 meter hurdles, Lee Dhein took first in the 100 meters and Jason Duchscherer won the 200 meters.
Two Bison into all-time top ten at Lyle Hokanson Open
Jesse Morrow cleared a personal best 16 feet 4 3/4 inches in the pole vault Saturday, March 31 at the Lyle Hokanson Open. His mark ranks sixth all-time at NDSU. In the 400 meters, Jason Duchscherer clocked in at 47.93 to move into 10th on the all-time charts.
NDSU kicks off outdoor slate in California
The Bison men competed in the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif. March 15-17 to open the outdoor portion of the schedule. Matt Tetzlaff came home with the 110 meter hurdles title with a winning time of 14.38 seconds. Freshman Adam Coykendall claimed his first collegiate title, winning the javelin with a mark of 158-0.
Bison men picked to win league title
The North Dakota State men's track and field team was selected to win the Summit League outdoor title in a vote of the league's head coaches. The Bison earned 60 points and five first place votes, just edging out Southern Utah, which had 59 points and four first place votes. Oral Roberts was picked third with 50 points.
NDSU to host outdoor championships
NDSU will host the 2012 Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Ellig Sports Complex May 10-12. This will be the first time the Bison have hosted the outdoor championships after hosting the indoor meet in 2010 and 2011.
