BOSTON - North Dakota State's Lawrence Alexander was one of 25 players named to CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major Freshmen All-America Team announced Monday, April 9.
Alexander, a 6-foot-3 guard from Peoria, Ill., averaged 12.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He was voted Summit League Newcomer of the Year by the league's coaches, sports information directors and media.
Alexander was the only Summit League player selected. He was the league's highest scoring newcomer and ranked fourth among all players in assists averaging 13.8 points 4.6 assists in league play.
North Dakota State finished 17-14 overall and tied for fourth in The Summit League with a 9-9 record. The Bison lost to Western Illinois in the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament and lost at Wyoming in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen.
