LANTANA, Fla.--Tom Meaney and Bryan Russo each homered and drove in three runs to lead UMBC to a 13-3 victory over North Dakota State in college baseball Monday, March 16, at the Palm Beach Challenge. Russo was 3-for-5 with three runs scored. He was a double short of hitting for the cycle as the Retrievers scored four runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings to put the game out of reach. Max Casper was 3-for-3 for North Dakota State. Teammates Luke Otto, Zach Heidmann, Justin Kline and Tim Jallen had two hits apiece. The Bison committed eight errors in the game. NDSU starting pitcher Zach Wentz took the loss. He allowed eight runs (three earned) on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts in three innings of work. |
