North Dakota State University head women’s basketball coach Carolyn DeHoff announced today Molly Marrin will remain on the coaching staff as the recruiting coordinator/assistant coach.

Along with her duties as the recruiting coordinator, DeHoff said Marrin will also pick up additional scouting and student-athlete academic responsibilities. Marrin completed her first season with the Bison last year.

"I am excited that Molly (Marrin) is continuing her commitment and will be part of our staff. The consistency in recruiting and the connections she has established in her time at NDSU are invaluable to the program," said DeHoff.

"After spending the past couple of weeks evaluating the current student-athletes we have signed and those on our radar for 2009, I am convinced that our philosophies are in line with player recruitment."

In 2006-07, Marrin was the recruiting coordinator/assistant coach at Wright State University of the Horizon League. Prior to working at Wright State, she spent three years as the recruiting coordinator/assistant coach at the University of Northern Colorado.

An outstanding collegiate performer at Regis University in Denver, Colo., Marrin helped lead the Rangers to two straight NCAA Division II tournament appearances in 2002 and 2003. As a senior, she was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference 2002-03 Preseason Player of the Year and ranked among NCAA leaders in both free throw and three-point field goal percentage. Marrin was named the Regis University 2002-03 Female Athlete of the Year.

Marrin was also a first team all-RMAC selection as a senior and a two-time all-tournament team choice. She finished her career as the fifth-leading scorer in school history with 1,128 points.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Marrin graduated cum laude from Regis with a degree in communications in May 2003. She was also a member of the Lamba Pi Eta National Honor Society, a three-time Academic All-RMAC selection and the recipient of the both Marshall McCluhan Mass Media Commencement Award and the Elaine Perry Leadership Scholarship. Marrin earned her master’s degree in sports management from Northern Colorado in 2005.
