COOKEVILLE, Tenn.--North Dakota State clinched third place in the Blue Ribbon Challenge with a 90-72 win over Tennessee Tech on Monday, Nov. 19.

Ben Woodside scored 19 first-half points and finished with a career-high 39 to lead the Bison, who finished the tournament with a 2-2 record and moved above .500 for the first time at 3-2 overall.

NDSU led by as many as 15 points on its way to a 46-32 halftime lead, but the Golden Eagles (1-3) pulled within nine three times in the second half.

It was 64-55 before North Dakota State broke open the game with an 11-0 run.

Lucas Moormann made 1 of 2 free throws, Woodside drained a deep 3-pointer off Moormann's miss, Mike Nelson hit a pair of foul shots and a 3-pointer, and Woodside made two foul shots to make it 75-55.

Tennessee Tech was no closer than 16 points the rest of the way as the Golden Eagles saw their 12-game home winning streak come to an end.

Woodside's 39 points was the 10th best single-game effort in NDSU history, topping the 37 points by all-time leading scorer Denver TenBroek against Columbus State in November 2002.

Forward Brett Winkelman had 20 points and nine rebounds for NDSU, while Nelson finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.

NDSU had a 36-26 rebounding advantage.  The Bison made 27 of 30 free throws, while Tennessee Tech made 7 of 16.

Anthony Fisher hit 10 of 18 field goals for 25 points to lead the Golden Eagles.

North Dakota State plays at Wisconsin-Green Bay at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.
