NEW YORK--The honors continue to come in for North Dakota State University running back Pat Paschall, who was named to the 2009 Associated Press NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America first team on Wednesday, Dec. 16. He was named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation FCS All-America team on Dec. 14 and the AFCA FCS Coaches' All-America team on Dec. 15. He is the first Bison player to receive AP and AFCA Coaches Division I FCS All-America first team honors.

Paschall, a 5-foot-11 1/2 senior from St. Louis, Mo., becomes the 25th NDSU player to be named to an Associated Press All-America first team and the first since outside linebacker Leif Murhpy in 2001. He was second in Missouri Valley Football Offensive Player of the Year balloting to Southern Illinois running back Deji Karim. He was a first-team all-MFVC selection.

Paschall is currently No. 1 in rushing in the NCAA Division I FCS statistics released Dec. 13, averaging 139.70 yards per game. David Sinsi of Monmouth was second at 130.64 and Deji Karim of Southern Illinois was third at 130.31. Paschall was also 5th in scoring (9.6 ppg) and 9th in all-purpose yards (158.30). Playoff games count toward the NCAA statistics, so individual and team champions will not determined until the playoffs are completed.

Paschall rushed 27 times for 140 yards and three touchdowns in North Dakota State's 39-35 loss to Youngstown State on Nov. 21. He finished the season with 1,397 yards and 16 TDs on 207 rushes for an average of 6.75 yards per carry. It was the 10th 100-yard rushing effort for Paschall in 10 games this season and 14 games in his career.

Paschall moved up three spots on the NDSU all-time charts into 8th position and finished his career with 2,528 yards on 399 carries and 23 touchdowns in 29 career games. He passed Doug Lloyd (2,410 yards, 1985-88), Kevin Feeney (2,473 yards, 1995-98) and former teammate Tyler Roehl (2,512 yards, 2004-08) against Youngstown State.

North Dakota State finished the season with a 3-8 record overall including a 2-6 mark in the MVFC.
