Bison Men Complete First Day of Action at Rice Intercollegiate

HOUSTON - The North Dakota State men's golf team is in 14th place after the first two rounds of the Rice Intercollegiate on Monday, Feb. 4, at the Westwood Golf Club.

North Dakota State has a four-player team score of 612.  Florida Atlantic leads the 14-team tournament with a 572, Texas-San Antonio is second with a 577 and Rice is third with a 580.

NDSU shot 313 in the opening round led by Nathan Anderson's 76 and three 79's from Bill Carlson, Trent Olson and Nate Varty.

The Bison dropped 14 strokes in the second round with a 299.  Anderson shot a 1-under-par 71, Carlson shot 73, Connor Holland 77 and Olson 78.

Anderson is tied for 24th with a 147, Carlson is tied for 48th with a 152, Olson is tied for 71st with a 157, and Holland and Varty are tied for 74th at 159.

Florida Atlantic's Richard Donegan and Rice's Jeff Wibawa are tied for the individual lead at 7-under 137 and individual competitor Bryn Flanagan of Houston is third with a 4-unde 140.

The final round begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5.
