Bison Softball Adds White Bear Lake's Danielle Renner to Early NCAA Signing List

North Dakota State University women's softball coach Darren Mueller announced today shortstop Danielle Renner (White Bear Lake, Minn. / White Bear Lake H.S.) has signed a national letter of intent to play softball and continue her education at NDSU. Renner joins outfielder Courtney Johnson (Fargo, N.D. / North H.S.) and pitcher Katie Thun (Hermantown, Minn. / Hermantown H.S.), who signed national letters of intent Nov. 14.
"We are very excited to add Dani to our program," said Mueller. "She brings excellent power and a very strong arm. She will be a big asset to our program."

SS DANIELLE RENNER Bat: R Throw: R (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake H.S.) HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year starter at shortop and catcher for White Bear Lake High School and head coach Kaity Wightman ..Hit .537 with nine home runs to lead White Bear Lake to a 16-8 record and the section finals ... Had an .820 slugging percentage and 1.388 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) ... Honorable mention on 2012 all-state team ... All-conference and St. Paul Pioneer Press All-Star team selection last spring ... Two-year starter at forward/center for basketball team ... All-conference performer ... Member of White Bear Lake's basketball state runner-up team in 2010 and fourth place team in 2011 ... PERSONAL: Daughter of Steve and Denise Renner ... Has one brother, Shad, and one sister, Kyra ... Plans to major in mechanical engineering.
