PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Arkansas-Pine Bluff scored twice in the sixth inning and twice in the seventh to pull away for a 5-1 win over North Dakota State in college baseball Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Torii Hunter Complex.

North Dakota State starter David Ernst gave up one run in five innings of work allowing three hits and no walks with three strikeouts and fell to 0-1 with the loss.  Kyle Kleinendorst had two hits for the Bison.

Sophomore left-hander Parker Trewin had two strikeouts and retired all five batters he faced to end the game.  It was his first action since coming back from Tommy John surgery that kept him out of the 2012 season.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff led 1-0 before getting a two-out double with the bases loaded in the sixth, and the Golden Lions expanded their lead to 5-0 in the seventh with a one-out double.

North Dakota State scored in the ninth when a wild pitch moved John Skrbec and Paul Funk into scoring position and Michael Leach hit an RBI groundout to second base.

The rubber game of the series is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17.
