Orgon Sets School Record in Hammer Throw at Bison Invitational

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State junior Casey Orgon set a new school record in the hammer throw on the first day of the Bison Invitational on Friday, April 13. Orgon's first place mark of 195 feet 2 inches broke his own record of 193-6 set at last year's Summit League Championships.
Orgon tallied his record-setting throw on his second attempt on a rainy afternoon at the Ellig Sports Complex.
Also competing in the hammer throw, Blake Elsen finished sixth with a mark of 166-4 and Josh Eiler was eighth with a throw of 160-5.
In the decathlon, Andy Lillejord, who is competing unattached, leads after the first five events with a score of 3,676 points. Beau Gagnon is the top Bison competitor and sits in fifth with 2,839 points.
The Bison Invitational continues Saturday, April 14 at the Ellig Sports Complex. The decathlon starts at 10:45 a.m. Field events begin at 12 p.m. and running events start at 2:30 p.m.
