Seven Bison Women to Compete at NCAA West Preliminary Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The North Dakota State women's track and field team will send seven athletes to the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas May 24-26. The top 48 athletes in each event qualified for the West Preliminary Round.
Antoinette Goodman will compete in both the 200 meters and the long jump. The school record holder in the 200 meters, Goodman qualified in the event with a season-best time of 24.00 seconds, which is 37th in the field. Her qualifying long jump mark was 19 feet 4 1/4 inches and ranks 40th.
Brittany Schanandore and Ashlynn Simon will both run the 800 meters. Schanandore qualified with a time of 2:07.17 to rank 25th coming into the meet and league runner-up Simon qualified in 2:08.07, which is 36th in the field.
School record holder Maddie McClellan will be joined in the steeplechase field by teammate Amy Jo Thorne. McClellan comes with the 19th fastest qualifying time of 10:19.39. Thorne's time of 10:28.48 is 34th in the field.
Summit League 400-meter champion Paige Stratioti will make her first NCAA apperance, qualifying in the 400 meters in a time of 54.07, which is 36th.
The school-record setting 4x400 relay team comes in with the 15th fastest time of 3:38.09.
