NDSU Women Open Cross Country Season with Bison Invitational

The North Dakota State women's cross country team will open the 2012 season by hosting the Bison Invitational on Fri., Aug. 31.

The five-kilometer race will be held at Rose Creek Golf Course in Fargo, with the women set to kick off the action at 6 p.m. Joining NDSU in the event will be South Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota.

Returners Heidi Peterson and Maddie McClellan finished 1-2 in the women's 6k race held at Rose Creek last September.

The Bison were picked to defend their Summit League championship from a year ago and are currently ranked No. 10 in the Midwest region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
