Release: August 27, 2012

The North Dakota State men's cross country team is ranked No. 14 in the Midwest region in the preseason team rankings released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

NDSU is the second-highest ranked program from The Summit League, trailing only Kansas City who came in at No. 12 in the Midwest. Last week, the Bison were picked second in The Summit League preseason poll of head coaches.

NDSU returns four of its top six finishers from the league meet a year ago, including sophomores Grady Anderson and Brett Kelly and juniors Moses Heppner and Alec Espeland.

NDSU will host the Bison Invitational on Fri., Aug. 31, to open the 2012 cross country season.
