Men's Cross Country Finishes Second at Summit League Championships

TULSA, Okla. - The North Dakota State men's cross country team placed second at the Summit League Championships, the school's best-ever finish, on Saturday, Oct. 29 on the campus of Oral Roberts. Southern Utah won the team title with 48 points, while the Bison were second with 95 points.

Senior Travis Fitzke earned first team all-league honors after finishing in fourth place. Sophomore Marty Joyce was a second team selection after a 14th place finish.

Southern Utah's Cameron Levins won the individual crown, covering the eight-kilometer course in 24 minutes 34.40 seconds.

Fitzke clocked in at 25:13.90 to lead the Bison contingent with a fourth place finish.. Joyce was 14th and finished in 25:32.70. Redshirt freshman Grady Anderson took 23rd in 26:16.70. Sophomore Moses Heppner placed 24th in 26:17.20, and redshirt freshman Brett Kelly rounded out the Bison scoring, taking 30th in 26:29.90.

The Bison now have a week off before competing in the NCAA Midwest Regional Nov. 12.
