Plucker Named to Capital One Academic All-District VII Third Team

FARGO, N.D.--North Dakota State University forward Abby Plucker was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VII women's basketball third team. The academic all-district teams are selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

Plucker, a 5-foot-11 junior from Parker, S.D. (Parker H.S.), maintains a 3.71 grade point average majoring in dietetics. She is the president of NDSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and vice-president of the Summit League SAAC.

A two-time Summit League Player of the Week this season, Plucker currently leads the league and ranks 29th in the NCAA in rebounding at10.1 rebounds per game. She has led NDSU in rebounding in 19 of 21 games this season. Plucker tops the team in scoring at 15.6 points per game.

North Dakota State (10-11, 6-5 Summit) is scheduled to play league-leading Oral Roberts (15-7, 11-0 Summit) at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Mabee Center (10,575) in Tulsa, Okla. The Bison then play Centenary College (0-18, 0-11 Summit) at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, in the Gold Dome (3,000) at Shreveport, La.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable). No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. In the cases of transfers, graduate students and two-year college graduates, the student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible.
