NDSU Tallies 38 Summit League Fall All-Academic Team Selections

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State had 38 student-athletes named to the Summit League Fall All-Academic Team announced by the league office Thursday, Jan. 26. The Bison had 25 student-athletes named Distinguished Scholars.

A total of 517 Summit League student-athletes from men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball have been honored for their academic excellence. Of the 517 selections, a total of 272 were recognized as Distinguished Scholars.

Oakland landed a league-high 62 selections on The Summit League's Fall Academic All-League Team, three ahead of IUPUI's 59 honorees. Western Illinois placed 54 student-athletes on the list followed by IPFW with 53 honorees and UMKC with 52 recipients. Oral Roberts (49 honorees), South Dakota State (48 honorees) and South Dakota (47 honorees) were each separated by just one student-athlete while Southern Utah and North Dakota State had 42 and 38 honorees. Associate men's soccer member Eastern Illinois placed 13 student-athletes on the team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-Summit League Team, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average (GPA) in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. In order to be named a Distinguished Scholar, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.60 GPA.
