Ryan Drevlow Named to Capital One Division I Football Academic All-District 6 Team

North Dakota State University nose guard Ryan Drevlow was named to the 2012 Capital One  Division I Academic All-District 6 football team by vote of members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday. He advances to the Capital One Academic All-America® national ballot.

Drevlow, a 6-foot-4, 281-pound junior from Gwinner, N.D. (North Sargent H.S.), has 14 tackles including five solos, two sacks and a QB hurry. He blocked a field goal attempt against Colorado State on Sept. 8.

Drevlow has played in 23 games during his career including 20 starts. He recorded a career-high four tackles at Northern Iowa on Sept. 29. Drevlow is part of the nation's top scoring, passing and total defensive units.

An electrical engineering major with a 3.66 grade point average, Drevlow was nominated for the NCAA Elite 89 Academic Award last season. He has received the Missouri Valley Football Conference Commissioner's Academic Award.

To be eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America® honors, student-athletes must have a 3.30 or better cumulative GPA on a 4-point scale, have sophomore athletic standing, and be a starter or key reserve for their team.

No. 1-ranked North Dakota State (8-1, 5-1 MVFC) is scheduled to host No. 16 South Dakota State (7-2, 5-1 MVFC) at 2:37 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome. The teams are playing for first place in the Missouri Valley Football Conference and the Dakota Marker.
