Ryan Perreault, associate director of athletic media relations, is in his 11th season with the NDSU athletic department.  He is the primary contact for the Bison volleyball, men's basketball, baseball and golf teams.

Perreault was hired as assistant director in October 2004 after two years as a graduate assistant at NDSU, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in mass communication and was a four-year starter on the baseball team.

A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America since 2002, his volleyball game program was judged "Best in the Nation" by CoSIDA four straight years from 2006 to 2009 after a second-place finish in 2005.  He was an editor for the Bison football program judged second in the nation in 2005 and the NDSU wrestling program judged third in the nation in 2007 and 2008.

The Fargo native played third base for the Bison from 1999 to 2002.  He made the All-Central Region and All-North Central Conference second teams with a .411 batting average in 39 games as a senior.  Off the field, he served on the NDSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two seasons.

Perreault has remained active on the regional baseball scene as an umpire of American Legion and high school baseball for 14 years, including 10 Class A state tournaments.  He has umpired college baseball for 10 seasons in the North Central Conference, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and the Dakota Athletic Conference, including two NAIA Super Regionals.

Perreault has served seven years as the secretary/treasurer of the Fargo-Moorhead Area Baseball Umpires Association and was the 2006 Active Official Award winner as the North Dakota High School Activities Association as the state's Baseball Official of the Year.

He and his wife, Stephanie, reside in Fargo with their children, Andrew and Leah.
