KANSAS CITY, Mo.--The North Dakota State men's golf team was in 10th place at the Summit League men's golf championship Monday night when play was suspended due to darkness. North Dakota State was one of four teams to complete two full rounds. The Bison shot a 309 in the first round and a 304 in the second. Senior Joe Schornack from Perham, Minn., has NDSU's best score with a 4-over-par 148. Schornack was tied for fourth after shooting a 1-under 71 in the first round. Oral Roberts is in first place at even-par and tournament host UMKC is second at 4-over-par after firing a 7-under 281 in the first round. South Dakota State and defending champion Western Illinois are tied for third at 13-over. ORU's Scott Stiles is the individual leader at 5-under-par through 27 holes. He shot a 4-under 68 in the first round. NDSU's Lee Cavanagh is tied for 39th with a 156, Taylor Cavanagh is tied for 42nd with a 157, Pat Deitz is 48th with a 158, and Brandon Hallquist is 50th with a 164. The tournament started two hours late due to rain. Second-round play will resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Country Club with the final round to follow. |
