LAKELAND, Fla. - Sophomore right-hander Bryson Hough threw a six-hit shutout to lift Bucknell to a 3-0 victory over North Dakota State on Sunday afternoon at historic Henley Field.

NDSU starter David Ernst registered five strikeouts in the first two innings and finished with seven punchouts in six innings pitched, but NDSU was not able to overcome his two earned runs allowed. Ernst fell to 2-2 on the season.

Sophomore Tate Leapaldt hit two doubles and walked for the Bison, finishing the day 2-for-3. Simon Anderson pitched two innings of relief, and Jake Heck and Jay Flaa recorded one and two outs, respectively, in the ninth for NDSU.

Bucknell (2-9) used a walk and two singles to take a 1-0 lead in the third inning. The Bison added a run in the fifth when Travis Clark singled, stole second, and scored on an infield single by Carter Bumgardner.

Bucknell tacked on an unearned run in the top of the ninth to set the final margin at 3-0.

NDSU will play Navy on Monday at 1 p.m. (CT) in Winter Haven, Fla.
