Release: February 28, 2013

Seven women on the North Dakota State track & field team will travel to Ames, Iowa, this Saturday to compete in the Iowa State Qualifier. In a meet designed to allow athletes one final chance to post a qualifying mark for the NCAA Indoor Championships, the Bison will be expecting to post some of their top times of the season.

Saturday's meet will be held inside the Lied Recreation Center on the campus of Iowa State University. Running events begin at 11 a.m.

Following this weekend, the top 16 performers in each individual event and the top 12 relay teams will be eligible for the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., on Mar. 8-9.

All seven women competing for NDSU this Saturday won conference titles at the Summit League Championships on Feb. 24-25.

Summit League 800m champion Faith Kruchowski will run the same event on Saturday, and she will once again be joined by conference runner-up Paige Stratioti and fourth-place finisher Erin Teschuk.

Stratioti owns the fastest 800m time by a Summit League athlete this season, having run 2:09.26 at the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 9. Kruchowski finished in 2:08.52 at the Iowa State Qualifier in 2012, ranking her eighth in NDSU indoor history just one spot ahead of Stratioti.

Summit League 400m champion Ashley Tingelstad and runner-up Brittany Page will both run the 400m dash on Saturday. Tingelstad and Page own the two fastest 400m times in The Summit League this season and rank No. 4 and No. 7 all-time at NDSU. Tingelstad ran 54.82 at the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 9 and is currently ranked No. 67 in the nation in the 400m.

League champion and new 200m school record holder Antoinette Goodman is slated to run in the 200m dash on Saturday. Goodman surpassed former NDSU All-American Tamara Brudy's 200m school record of 24.30 seconds on Monday, running 23.98 to win her third consecutive league title in the event. She is currently the highest ranked Bison on the national performance lists, standing at No. 24 in the 200m.

Three-time Summit League 60m hurdles champion and NDSU school record holder Deborah John will compete in the 60m hurdles. John is ranked No. 50 in the nation in event, and she set her school record of 8.36 seconds at this event one year ago.

The Bison have also entered a 4x400m relay in the meet. Live results will be provided by Iowa State and linked on GoBison.com.
