Jack Johnson Classic Awaits Bison Women’s Track & Field

The North Dakota State women's track & field team will travel to Minneapolis for the Jack Johnson Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota on Jan. 18-19.
The meet begins with the women's pentathlon 60m hurdles and women's long jump at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18. Several other events will be contested Friday afternoon and evening, with the majority of events slated for Saturday afternoon.
Competing teams will include North Dakota State, Minnesota, Augustana (S.D.), Manitoba, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, Western Michigan, South Dakota and MSU Moorhead. Team scores will be kept, and live results will be available on GopherSports.com.
NDSU opened the 2013 portion of its indoor schedule with a pair of team wins in the Bison Classic double-dual format on Jan. 12. The Bison claimed event titles in seven events at the inaugural meet in the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track & Field Facility.
Of the 14 events the Bison have competed in this season, they lead The Summit League in 10. Senior Faith Kruchowski and sophomore Paige Stratioti rank 12th and 14th, respectively, in the nation in the 800m. Kruchowski was named The Summit League's Athlete of the Week for her performance.
Joining Kruchowski and Stratioti in the national top 50 are Erin Teschuk (800m, 30th), Lexy Boschee (high jump, 32nd), Antoinette Goodman (200m, 33rd; long jump, 44th) and Heidi Peterson (3,000m, 46th).
NDSU is ranked No. 14 in the nation in the Track & Field News dual meet women's team rankings - the highest rank among Summit League schools and teams competing at the Jack Johnson Classic this weekend.
