The 2,460 pass yards were the most ever for an MVFC freshman. He was second in the MVFC in total offense and passing average per game and led the league in pass efficiency with a passer rating of 141.9. Kollmorgen passed for over 200 yards in nine games this season including a season high 333 yards against Youngstown State. Kollmorgen is the third Panther to win the league's Freshman of the Year honor and the fourth to be named Newcomer of the Year. He's the first-ever MVFC player to win both awards.

Kollmorgen is a finalist -- along with fellow freshmen LB T.J. Lally of South Dakota State and LB J.J. Raffelson of Western Illinois -- for the Jerry Rice Award, given to the top freshman in the Football Championship Subdivision.
