FARGO, N.D. - Wes Satzinger drove in two runs and Anthony Kliniske pitched five scoreless innings to lead North Dakota State to a 6-1 win over Minot State in college baseball Tuesday, May 1, at Newman Outdoor Field.

Kliniske allowed four hits and three walks with two strikeouts and improved to 2-0 with the win.  Jake Heck struck out three batters in two scoreless innings of relief for North Dakota State, which improved to 33-11 overall.

Satzinger's two-run single was part of a four-run third inning.  Tim Colwell hit a sacrifice fly to start the scoring and Blake Turbak hit a two-out infield single.

Nick Colwell was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, and John Skrbec was 1-for-4 with a double for NDSU.  Skrbec made six assists at third base including a barehanded pickup and throw for the first out of the fourth.

Minot State threatened in the fourth when Mitch Olson drew a one-out walk and Scott Peters doubled to the gap in right-center, but Olson was thrown out at the plate on a relay from Tim Colwell to shortstop Max Casper to catcher Michael Leach.

Pinch hitter Doug Richter scored the Beavers' only run in the ninth when he reached on a hit-by-pitch, moved up on a single, advanced to third on a two-out error, and scored unearned on a wild pitch.

Minot State starter Cole Stober allowed five runs on eight hits with three walks and one strikeout in five innings and dropped to 3-5 with the loss.

North Dakota State continues its nine-game homestand with a four-game Summit League series against Southern Utah beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 4.
