Bison Men Four Shots Back After First Day at Western Illinois

MACOMB, Ill. - The North Dakota State men's golf team is in second place after the first two rounds of the Western Illinois Beu/Mussatto Invitational on Monday, April 2, at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course.
NDSU's Bill Carlson shot back-to-back rounds of 73 - his best score of the season - and is tied for seventh place at 2-over-par 146 five shots behind individual leader Nicholas Grubnich of Indiana.
North Dakota State shot a 303 in the first round and turned in its second-best score of the year with a 295 in the second round. The Bison have a 598 and are four shots behind Indian Hills Community College in the 15-team tournament.
For NDSU, Zach Stenstad is tied for 13th with a 149, Nathan Anderson is tied for 17th with a 150, Nate Varty is tied for 28th with a 154, and Kyle Jandro is tied for 33rd at 156.
The Bison have two individuals competing. Trent Olson is tied for 17th with a 150 and Josh Weismantel is 66th with a 163.
The final round is scheduled for a 7:30 a.m. start on Tuesday, April 3.
