TUCSON, Ariz. - Zach Wentz's RBI double sparked a six-run eighth inning and North Dakota State beat a ranked Division I baseball opponent for the first time 8-2 at Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 18, before a crowd of 2,920 at Hi Corbett Field.

Senior right-hander Luke Anderson pitched seven innings of two-hit ball for North Dakota State (1-1) and junior relief ace Kyle Kingsley struck out two in a scoreless eighth and ninth innings.

Kyle Kleinendorst hit his first collegiate home run in the fifth inning, a two-run shot to center field that tied the game 2-2.  He finished with three RBIs including a bases-loaded walk in the eighth.

NDSU did all its damage against Arizona's bullpen.  Wildcats starter Konner Wade struck out 13 and held the Bison to two hits over the first 7 1/3 innings before leaving with a pitch count of 109.

Arizona is ranked as high as fifth in the Baseball America preseason poll.  The other three Division I polls have the Wildcats 18th, 20th and 20th.

The final game of the series is scheduled for 12 p.m. MST on Sunday, Feb. 19.
