ELMHURST, Ill. - Four North Dakota State soccer players earned All-Summit League honors to cap off a successful regular season.  After leading the Bison to a share of the league title, junior Abbey Stratton and freshman Brooklyn Dyce captured first team honors, while junior Quin Ryan and senior Lorraine Thompson were named to the second team.  Dyce also earned all-freshman accolades.  The 2009 season marks the first time the Bison have had any first team selections.

Stratton leads the Bison with six goals and four assists (16 points).  All six of her goals, including three game-winners, came in Summit League play. The Champlin, Minn. native has also helped the Bison defense record five shutouts this season.  Stratton was also a second team all-league selection in 2007.

Dyce has tallied five goals and two assists in her freshman campaign, including two game-winning goals.  Along with Stratton, she was named to the Soccer Etc/Nike Invitational all-tournament team earlier this season.  She is the sixth Bison player to earn all-freshman honors.

Ryan picks up her first league award after scoring four goals and recording six assists.  All 14 of her points came in the last seven games of the season.  The junior out of Georgetown, Minn. finished the regular season as the league leader in assists (6).

Thompson earns her second straight second team honor after scoring three goals this season.  The Sioux Falls, S.D. native has cracked the NDSU career top 10 in five offensive categories.  In addition to her offensive threat, she has helped the Bison defense record five shutouts this year.

IUPUI’s Alicia Brock was the Offensive Player of the Year while teammate Stephanie Hoffman was the Defensive Player of the Year.  Jags coach Chris Johnson was voted Coach of the Year.  IPFW’s Lisa Underwood was named the Freshman of the Year.

The Bison (10-7-2, 7-2 Summit) will play IUPUI (15-4, 7-2 Summit) in the Summit League tournament semifinals Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. at Fishback Soccer Park in Brookings, S.D.  It is the first tournament appearance for North Dakota State.
