North Dakota State University (2-7, 1-5 Valley Football) is scheduled to play Indiana State University (1-8, 1-5 Valley Football) at 12:05 p.m. (Eastern) Saturday, Nov. 14, in Memorial Stadium (AstroPlay / 12,764) ... The Bison are off this weekend ... NDSU defeated Western Illinois 14-7 in Macomb on Saturday, while Indiana State lost to 3rd-ranked Southern Illinois 33-0 in Terre Haute ... The Sycamores snapped a 33-game losing streak a week earlier against Western Illinois ... Indiana State plays at Missouri State on Nov. 7 ... North Dakota State snapped a five-game losing streak, the longest since 1975.

NDSU DEFENSIVE END COULTER BOYER EARNS MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL CONFERENCE WEEKLY DEFENSIVE HONOR: North Dakota State University defensive end Coulter Boyer, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound sophomore from Hurley, S.D., was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week ... Boyer had three of North Dakota State’s seven sacks in the Bison 14-7 win over Western Illinois in Macomb ... Boyer had five tackles including 3.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble ... Two of Boyer’s sacks came during the Leathernecks final two drives of the game including a forced fumble on the last drive ... NDSU’s defense held Western Illinois to 206 yards of total offense ... The Bison had a season-high four takeaways – the previous high was two at Iowa State and against Wagner.

KEEPING PACE WITH PASCHALL: Senior running back Pat Paschall (St. Louis, Mo.) rushed 19 times for 111 yards and a TD in the 14-7 win at Western Illinois on Oct. 31 ... Paschall recorded his eighth straight 100-yard game this season ... He has rushed 164 times for 1,128 yards (6.9 ypc) and nine TDs in eight games, and has also caught 11 passes for 183 yards ... North Dakota State has had seven straight seasons with an 1,000-yard rusher dating back to 2003 ... Paschall now has 12 career 100-yard efforts (tied for 8th all-time at NDSU) and has rushed 356 times for 2,259 yards (6.3 ypc) and 16 TDs in 27 games, and has caught 21 passes for 250 yards and one TD ... Paschall became the 17th NDSU player to rush for 2,000 yards in a career and ranks 13th on the Bison all-time rushing list entering the Indiana State game ... He currently ranks 1st in rushing (141 avg./g) and 9th in all-purpose yards (163.88 avg./g) in NCAA Division I FCS statistics ... In the 59-28 win over Wagner on Sept. 19, Paschall scored on a 91-yard run in the second quarter, which included a spinning leap over a Wagner defensive player ... It was the longest run from scrimmage in NDSU history, breaking by one yard a record set by Cy Peschel vs. South Dakota State in 1928 ... He rushed for 150 yards on a career-high 28 carries in North Dakota State’s 24-14 loss at 8th/9th-ranked Southern Illinois on Sept. 26.

PRESSING ON WITH EVANS: Sophomore linebacker Preston Evans (Sioux Falls, S.D.) led the Bison with 13 tackles including six solos and a sack in the Bison 28-13 loss at 14th-ranked South Dakota State on Oct. 17 ... He has three double-figure tackle games this season ... Evans recorded a career-high 19 tackles including 10 solo tackles and blocked a field goal attempt against Illinois State ... His previous best was 11 in the season opener at Iowa State ... He leads the team with 75 tackles including 39 solos, 5.0 tackles for loss and four quarterback hurries ... Evans’ blocked field goal was the first since 2005 when defensive back Ryan Olson blocked a field goal in the season opener against Arkansas-Monticello ... His 19 tackles are the most by a Bison player since 1998 when linebacker Ben Ahneman had 20 (5-15) at St. Cloud State ... Evans’ 10 solo tackles were two away from the school single-game record of 12 solos shared by Craig Dahl vs. Nicholls State in 2004 and Jerry Dahl vs. South Dakota State in 1974 ... His counterpart, senior outside linebacker Matt Kittelson (Velva, N.D.) had a career-high 14 tackles vs. Illinois State (11-3-09).

GRATZEK JAMS UP MIDDLE: Junior defensive tackle Matthew Gratzek (Argyle, Minn.) made a career-high nine tackles including five solos and 2.5 tackles for loss at 14th-ranked South Dakota State (10-17-09) ... Gratzek’s previous high in solos was four vs. UNI (10-10-09), eight total tackles vs. Western Illinois, 2008, and two tackles for loss at Missouri State, 2008, and at Minnesota, 2007 ... Gratzek has 37 tackles including 8.5 tackles for loss, two fumbles recoveries and 1.5 sacks this season.

DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN: Wide receiver Warren Holloway (Houston, Texas) blocked a punt that was returned 20 yards for a TD by defensive back Daniel Eaves (Harvey, Ill.) vs. 3rd/4th-ranked UNI (10-10-09) ... It was the second time the duo of Holloway and Eaves teamed for a blocked punt/TD, the first came against Central Connecticut State (9-6-08) ... Holloway recorded his second blocked punt of the season and the third of his career in the fourth quarter against Missouri State (10-24-09) ... Eaves recorded a career-high nine tackles including six solos at South Dakota State ... Eaves had a season-best six tackles in three previous games and five solos at Iowa State.

BISON QUICK-HITTERS: Pat Paschall moved back into No. 1 in NCAA Division I FCS rushing, averaging 141 yards per game and is 9th in all-purpose yards (163.88 ypg) ... Overall, NDSU is 8th in rushing offense (210.22 ypg) and 25th in total offense (385.22 ypg) ... Individually, Shamen Washington is 7th in kickoff returns (27.79 avg.) ... North Dakota State ranks 7th in NCAA Division I FCS attendance, averaging 17,069 spectators over four home dates thru Oct. 31 ... Safety Cyrus Lemon’s (Minneapolis, Minn.) interception in the first quarter at Western Illinois was NDSU’s first pick since the Wagner game and Lemon’s third career interception ... NDSU’s seven sacks and 10 tackles for loss against Western Illinois were a season-high ... Defensive end Garrett Johnson (Chaska, Minn.) tied a career-high with two sacks ... Linebacker Brandon Jemison (Fargo, N.D.) had a season-high 12 tackles including nine solos and one forced fumble at WIU ... Defensive tackle Matthew Gratzek (Argyle, Minn.) recovered two fumbles against the Leathernecks ... Junior Matt Phillips (De Pere, Wis.) had eight tackles including five solos, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and a pair of quarterback hurries at WIU ... Phillips was making the start at nose guard in place of senior Mike Fairbairn (LaGrange, Ill.), who missed his first start in 41 games ... Sophomore linebacker Alex Yaggie (Thief River Falls, Minn.) blocked a punt at South Dakota State (10-17-09) ... Junior tight end Landon Smith (Dickinson, N.D.) recovered a fumbled punt at SDSU ... True freshman running back Sam Ojuri (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) scored a TD against Illinois State (10-3-09) in his first collegiate game ... Sophomore wide receiver Warren Holloway (Houston, Texas) made a career-high eight receptions for 134 yards vs. 3rd/4th-ranked UNI (10-10-09) ... Holloway leads North Dakota State with 30 receptions for 426 yards (14.2 ypc) ... Sophomore defensive end Coulter Boyer (Hurley, S.D.) had five tackles including 1.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery and three quarterback hurries in the Bison loss to UNI (10-10-09) ... Boyer has a team-high nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and four forced fumbles this season ... Boyer recorded a career-high eight tackles at Sam Houston State (9-12-09) ... The 59 points vs. Wagner are the most scored by NDSU since 2006 when the Bison defeated Concordia-St. Paul 66-7 in the season opener ... Speaking of home openers, the Bison have won 11 straight dating back to 1998 when Emporia State defeated NDSU 23-21 ... NDSU avoided its first 0-3 start since 1962 ... The Bison had started 0-2 for the first time since 1981 ... Senior quarterback Nick Mertens (East Grand Forks, Minn.) tied a career-high with three TD passes at Sam Houston State (9-12-09) ... Mertens completed 14 of 26 passes for 236 yards and one interception and also rushed for a pair of TDs ... The 48-45 shootout with Sam Houston State was the most points allowed since 2002 when the Bison lost 49-42 at Nebraska-Omaha ... True freshman running back Mike Sigers will remember his first collegiate rushing attempt, a 42-yard burst down the left sideline to the 1 yardline against Iowa State on Sept. 3 ... Sigers finished with three carries for 53 yards for an average of 17.7 yards per attempt ... With a 51-24 record, NDSU head coach Craig Bohl is No. 5 on the school’s all-time win list ... Bohl is one of four Bison coaches with 50 wins ... He topped the previous record of 42 of 63 set by Aaron Pederson (1998-01) ... Bibeau has made 51 of 73 field goals for 69.9 percent during his career including a long of 52 yards vs. Wagner College (9-19-09) ... He has 308 career points, which ranks fourth all-time at NDSU ... Bibeau’s belt was the eighth field goal of 50-or-more yards in NDSU history.
