KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The North Dakota State soccer team clinched a share of its first-ever Summit League regular season title with a 2-0 victory over Centenary on Monday, Nov. 2.  The Bison finished the regular season with a 10-7-2 record and a 7-2 mark in the Summit League.  South Dakota State and IUPUI share the regular season title with the Bison.

The Bison put the pressure on Centenary early, taking 10 shots in the first 26 minutes.  Sophomore Danielle Boldenow forced Ladies goalie Kate Donnelly into two saves while junior Abbey Stratton also forced one.

NDSU broke the stalemate in the 27th minute when Stratton put in a corner kick for her fifth goal of the season.

Just over two minutes later, Stratton added a second goal when she headed in a corner kick from junior Quin Ryan.  It was Stratton's second straight two-goal game and the fourth time the duo has hooked up for a goal.

The Bison outshot the Ladies, 14-0, in the first half and recorded seven shots on goal.

Centenary's Katie Valdez had a chance early in the second half to cut the deficit to one, but her shot ricocheted off the crossbar.  The Bison defense helped limit Valdez, one of the league's top scorers, and Centenary to zero shots on goal and only five total shots.

NDSU picked up its fifth shutout of the year and sophomore goalie Kalani Bertsch earned her fourth of the season.  The Bison reached double-digit wins for the 10th time in school history.

The team will now travel to Brookings, S.D. for the four-team Summit League tournament.  Along with North Dakota State, South Dakota State, IUPUI and Western Illinois make up the field.  On Friday, Nov. 6, top seed South Dakota State will play No. 4 seed Western Illinois at 3 p.m. while No. 3 seed North Dakota State and No. 2 seed IUPUI will meet at 6 p.m.
