CEDAR CITY, UTAH – The North Dakota State men’s cross country team placed sixth at the Summit League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31 in Cedar City, Utah.  South Dakota State won the title with 59 points.

Sophomore Jake Henderson was the top finisher for the Bison, coming in 16^th in the eight-kilometer race in 26:18.10.  Southern Utah’s Cameron Levins won the event with a time of 24:48.00.

Sophomore Travis Fitzke finished 23^rd in 26:35.90 while fellow sophomore Tyler Leverington was  27^th in 26:50.10 to round out the top 30 finishers for NDSU.

Junior Eric Stroh came in 34^th in a time of 27:14.80 and senior Tom Schanandore was 41^st in 27:46.50.

Redshirt freshman Dan Merritt finished 48^th in 28:41.20 and sophomore Colin Parrish was 56^th in 29:49.40 to round out the Bison contingent.

Levins was named the Championship MVP, while UMKC’s Cosmas Ayabei was the Newcomer of the Championship.  South Dakota State’s Rod DeHaven took home Coach of the Year accolades.

The Bison now have a week off before traveling to Springfield, Mo. for the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, Nov. 14.
