CEDAR CITY, UTAH – The North Dakota State men’s cross country team placed sixth at the Summit League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31 in Cedar City, Utah. South Dakota State won the title with 59 points. Sophomore Jake Henderson was the top finisher for the Bison, coming in 16th in the eight-kilometer race in 26:18.10. Southern Utah’s Cameron Levins won the event with a time of 24:48.00. Sophomore Travis Fitzke finished 23rd in 26:35.90 while fellow sophomore Tyler Leverington was 27th in 26:50.10 to round out the top 30 finishers for NDSU. Junior Eric Stroh came in 34th in a time of 27:14.80 and senior Tom Schanandore was 41st in 27:46.50. Redshirt freshman Dan Merritt finished 48th in 28:41.20 and sophomore Colin Parrish was 56th in 29:49.40 to round out the Bison contingent. Levins was named the Championship MVP, while UMKC’s Cosmas Ayabei was the Newcomer of the Championship. South Dakota State’s Rod DeHaven took home Coach of the Year accolades.
