Simon Leads Bison Women on First Day of Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - Sophomore Ashlynn Simon finished third in the unseeded 800 meters to lead the North Dakota State women's track and field team at the Drake Relays Thursday, April 25.

Simon clocked in with a personal best time of 2 minutes 8.23 seconds, which ranks sixth in school history.  Faith Kruchowski was seventh in the same event after clocking in with a time of 2:10.43.

Maddie McClellan, Amy Jo Thorne, Abbi Aspengren and Marissa Dahlquist also competed in the 4x1,600 meter relay and posted a sixth place finish in 19 minutes 51.76 seconds.  Their time is second all-time at NDSU.

In the 10,000 meters, Jordan Krahn finished 24th with a time of 37:28.02.

The Bison women continue action at the Drake Relays Friday, April 26 beginning with the 4x100 relay preliminaries at 9:32 a.m.  Free live stats can be found at GoBison.com and live video is available for a fee through GoDrakeBulldogs.com.
