Release: January 23, 2013

North Dakota State University's track and field teams moved into the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility in December 2012 after a 14-month construction process totaling nearly $5.5 million.

The 78,000-square-foot facility includes a 200-meter, eight-lane track with 42-inch wide lanes with additional practice lanes on one straightaway. There are also multiple long jump, triple jump and pole vault runways, along with a shot put and weight throw sector on the infield.

The facility is named after Sheldon Ellig, an avid philanthropist and sports enthusiast who owned Stop-N-Go Foods, Inc., from 1974 until his death in October 2010.
