Turek Helps Oral Roberts Muscle Past North Dakota State 82-67

TULSA, Okla.--Elisha Turek scored a 22 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in leading Oral Roberts University to an 82-67 win over North Dakota State University in the women's college basketball season opener for both teams played Saturday, Nov. 11,  at the Mabee Center.

North Dakota State (0-1) is scheduled to host Northern Arizona at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Bison Sports Arena.

Turek, who is the Mid-Con's preseason player of the year, connected on 10-of-16 from the field and 2-of-3 free throws to roll up her game-high total. She led a group of four ORU players in double-figures as teammate Jenny Hardin scored 20 points.

Lisa Bue paced the Bison with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Brenda Slyt knocked in 12. Newcomer, point guard Emily Moran came up with four steals in the contest.

North Dakota State trailed 38-32 at halftime in the game between two future Mid-Con opponents.

ORU shot 45.2 percent from the field, but made only 52.4 percent from the foul line. The Golden Eagles held a 49-36 rebound advantage. NDSU shot 44.3 percent from the field.
