Trio of Bison Women Shine at Iowa State Classic

AMES, Iowa - The North Dakota State women's track & field team had three athletes compete at the Iowa State Classic on Friday afternoon, and all three recorded lifetime bests in their events.
Junior Ashley Tingelstad won the women's non-seeded 200m dash by over three tenths of a second, finishing in 24.56 seconds. Tingelstad's personal-best time ranks fourth-best in NDSU history.
Senior Faith Kruchowski ran 56.50 in the first indoor open 400m of her career, taking second place on Friday. Kruchowski is now No. 2 in The Summit League in the 400m this season. The Bison own the four fastest 400m runners in the conference this season and seven of the top eight.
Junior Heidi Peterson recorded a personal-best time of 17:19.10 in the non-seeded 5,000m for third place. Peterson ranks No. 4 in NDSU history and No. 2 in The Summit League this season in the event.
Tingelstad will run in the fast section of the women's 400m dash tomorrow afternoon, and Kruchowski will run in the seeded 800m as well. Brecca Wahlund, Erin Teschuk, Paige Stratioti and Brittany Page will also compete for NDSU at Iowa State on Saturday.
North Dakota State will host the Bison Open inside the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track & Field Facility on Saturday. The Bison Open will begin with the weight throw at 10 a.m., as well as the long jump, high jump and pole vault at 11 a.m. Running events begin with the 5,000m at noon.
