Release: November 28, 2012

FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State head baseball coach Tod Brown announced the addition of Hermantown (Minn.) High School right-handed pitcher Kevin Folman to the Bison recruiting class Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Folman has been accepted for admission at NDSU and will join the baseball team in the 2014 season.  He joins eight early signees including left-handed pitcher Jared Dettmann of Somerset, Wis., and righty Reed Pfannenstein of St. Cloud, Minn.

"We are excited to add another quality arm to our pitching staff," Brown said.  "We will graduate five pitchers from this year's team so it is important that these young guys come in ready to compete next fall."

Folman was part of back-to-back section runner-up teams in 2010 and 2011 and was an all-conference performer in 2012 as Hermantown finished 19-3 overall.  He played on Hermantown's back-to-back conference championship teams in football and was named all-conference last year.

Other additions for NDSU during the early signing period were catcher Zach Horn (Richfield, Minn.); first baseman Luke Lind (Eden Prairie, Minn.); outfielder Ben Petersen (Lino Lakes, Minn.); infielder Logan Swann (Morgan, Minn.); catcher Danny Palmiscno (Grand Forks, N.D.); and infielder Jeron Terres (Cold Spring, Minn.).

North Dakota State set a school record for wins finishing 40-20 last year and advancing to the championship game of the Summit League tournament after placing third in the league with a 14-10 record.  The Bison open the 2013 season Feb. 15-17 at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
