Tetzlaff Wins Twice to Lead NDSU Men at Bison Invitational

Tetzlaff claimed the 110 meter hurdles in 14.48 seconds to lead a 1-2-3-4 Bison finish in the event. Tetzlaff was first in the 400 hurdles in 53.18 seconds, four-tenths ahead of teammate Jerome Begin, who took second.
Freshman Brock Larson won the pole vault with a personal best mark of 16 feet 6 ¾ inches, which is tied for fifth all-time at NDSU. Larson cleared the winning height on his first attempt. Jeramy Geditz was first in the high jump after clearing 6 feet 6 ¾ inches.
Travis Fitzke won the 800 meters in 1 minute 52.13 seconds and Josh Hintz was second in 1:55.67.
The 4x100 relay team of Tetzlaff, Nate Mattson, Jason Duchscherer and Lee Dhein finished first in 41.45. The Bison also won the 4x400 relay in 3:20.05 with a team of Andrew Balzer, Begin, Alec Espeland and Duchscherer.
In the 400 meters, Duchscherer finished second in a personal best time of 47.63 seconds. His time is seventh in school history.
Additionally, former North Dakota State athlete Riley Dolezal won the javelin with a facility record throw of 236 feet 2 inches. His mark reaches the ‘B' standard for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.
NDSU is back in action next week in California, competing in the Mt. SAC Relays, the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Beach Invitational.
