MONTEREY, Calif.--North Dakota State freshman Amy Anderson shot a 69 in the second round to take a six-stroke lead at the Drake Monterey Invitational women's golf tournament on Friday, March 19, at Del Monte Golf Course. Anderson's fourth 69 of the season tied the school single-round record she set at the Nebraska Chip-N Club Invitational in September. Anderson leads Drake's Olivia Lansing by six shots. First-day leader Elena Vukmir of Drake shot an 83 in the second round to fall into a three-way tie for third place 12 shots back. North Dakota State has two players in the top 10 after sophomore Jenna Schulte shot a 78 in the second round to move into a tie for ninth place at 158. NDSU has rounds of 321 and 324 and enters the final day fifth in the nine-team tournament with a 645. The Bison are 26 strokes behind tournament leader Drake, which has a 619 one shot ahead of second-place Lamar. Also for NDSU, sophomore Rachel Roller is in 39th place with a 172, freshman Cydney Hasselberg is 40th with a 173, and junior Lauren Crumby is 48th with a 181. The final round is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PT on Saturday, March 20. |
