North Dakota State led 32-25 at halftime but couldn't shake Southern Utah, who kept within striking distance behind the effort of Caitlyn Sears and Challis Pascucci. Sears netted a team-high 13 points, while Pascucci scored nine points and snared a game-high 10 rebounds.
Both teams shot under 40 percent, North Dakota State at 38.7 (24-62) and the Thunderbirds at 39.3 (22-56). The Bison held a slight 40-38 advantage in rebounding.
