Box Score

FARGO, N.D.--Lisa Bue dropped in 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to reach 1,000 points in her career as North Dakota State romped past IPFW 87-47 in a Summit League women's basketball game played Monday, Jan. 7, before a crowd of 1,075 in the Bison Sports Arena.

NDSU (7-7, 2-2 Summit League) is scheduled to travel and play at Western Illinois (5-9, 3-0 Summit League) at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in Macomb, Ill., and at IUPUI (5-10, 1-2 Summit League) at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14., in Indianapolis.

Bue, a 5-foot-10 senior from Austin, Minn., missed her first three shots but hit the fourth -- a short jumper with 15:44 left in the first half to become the 27th NDSU women's basketball player to reach 1,000 points in a career. She currently has 1,021 points entering this weekend.

Bue connected on 10 of 16 field goal attempts overall. She notched her second straight "double-double", fourth this season and sixth of her career.

All 11 players who entered the game for NDSU scored as Bue led a group of four players in double-figures. Emily Moran netted 16 points, while Annika Walseth and Brenda Slyt each added 10 points.

North Dakota State gradually pulled away to build a 41-26 halftime lead. The Bison shot 65.2 percent from the field in the second half and took advantage of scoreless droughts totaling 10 minutes by the Mastodons (2-2 Summit, 4-9) in the final period.

NDSU shot a season best 54.4 percent from the field overall and held a 58-31 advantage on the boards. Jerri Penley and Walseth each added eight rebounds, and Abby Plucker added six rebounds for the Bison. Sophomore Inger Hodgson dished out a career-high five assists.

IPFW shot only 16.7 percent from the field in the second half and 22.5 percent overall. The Mastodons made only 4 of 28 three-point attempts. Johnna Lewis-Carlisle led the Mastodons with nine points.

The 40-point margin of victory is the largest against a Division I opponent for North Dakota State. The Bison defeated Utah Valley State 81-48 last season in Fargo.
