Box Score GREEN BAY, Wis.--Lavesa Glover recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead a group of four players in double-figures as Green Bay defeated North Dakota State 66-52 in a women's college basketball game played Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Kress Center.
North Dakota State (5-6) is scheduled to host Montana State (5-5) at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, in the second annual Katherine Burgum Classic at the Bison Sports Arena. The Bobcats play at North Dakota on Dec. 28 prior to heading to Fargo.
The Bison trailed 33-26 at halftime as the Phoenix (7-3) went on a 15-5 run over the last seven minutes of the first half to take control. It was the second time this season NDSU had trailed at the intermission.
North Dakota State led 19-15 after Lisa Bue canned a three-pointer with 10:15 left in the first half. Bue scored 12 of her 19 points in the opening period. The Bison connected on five of their first eight 3-point attempts, however missed the next six.
Rachel Porath's three-pointer with 6:24 left gave Green Bay a 23-21 lead in a back-and-forth first half that featured six lead changes and four ties. Both teams had nine turnovers in the opening half, but the Phoenix scored 14 points off the miscues.
NDSU had to weather a five-minute span without a field goal that stalled any comeback attempts in the second half.
Glover scored nine of her 15 points in the second half as the Phoenix spread out the NDSU defense. Porath led Green Bay with 16 points, Kayla Groh netted 13 and Kati Harty added 10 points. Porath hit 4 of 8 from the three-point line.
Green Bay connected on 48.3 percent from the field in the second half and 44.4 percent overall compared to 32.7 percent for North Dakota State. The Phoenix outrebounded the Bison 40-30 and overcame 18 turnovers.
